A 10 ft shipping container, or its smaller 8 ft sibling, puts genuine corten-steel, lockable, weatherproof storage on sites where a 20 ft box simply will not fit: urban backyards, alley-access lots, tight commercial yards. These compact units deliver where full-size trucks cannot, and like everything we sell they come with visible pricing, online checkout, and free delivery and placement in the contiguous US.

How to Choose an 8 ft or 10 ft Shipping Container

Buy the largest unit your access allows, small containers cost more per square foot than large ones, so the compact sizes earn their keep only where space is genuinely constrained. Measure three things: the gate or gap the container must pass through, the footprint where it will sit, and the overhead clearance for the delivery truck's lift. A 10 ft unit is the better all-rounder, taking mowers, bikes, tools, and seasonal storage with room to move inside. The 8 ft suits a single dedicated duty, tool locker, trash-can enclosure, pool equipment, where every inch of yard matters. Both are the same full-height, lockable steel construction as their big siblings, just cut for tight sites.

If your site could take a bigger box, a 20 ft shipping container roughly doubles the space for a modest price step, compare per-size pricing in our guide to how much a shipping container costs before deciding.

Why do small containers cost almost as much as 20 ft units?

Most 8 ft and 10 ft containers are cut down and re-fabricated from full-size boxes, which adds labor a stock 20 ft unit never needs. You are paying for fabrication and fit, not raw steel, that is also why they are worth it only when space truly rules out a 20 ft.

Can these be delivered where a normal container can't?

Usually, yes. Compact units ship on smaller trucks and trailers that handle residential streets, short driveways, and tighter turns. Placement is included free in the contiguous US; if access looks marginal, call (509) 575-1198 and we will confirm with the local depot first.
